Personal Branding, do you know what it is all about? Have you in front of the mirror ever given yourself a compliment before criticism? That’s the way! Personal Marketing is the path of professional life being pleasurable and starting with the most important person at this moment, you.
By working with branding in this last super digital decade, I understood that the positioning of people and brands, profiles in general, are directly connected to the narrative. The How, The Where, With Whom, there are several ways to tell a story, but especially for those who narrate, if there is no passion as a first step the story has no longevity because you will stop producing.
The starting point is what you produce, how you lead your life today. Stories are made up of parts of reality that don’t appear, so there is also a bit of how the world sees you through what is selected to tell the story, in other words, is it how you behave on the internet that tells about your personal marketing? Pretty much. There is a world outside of digital, thank goodness.
The normal thing today is to think digital, as much as I am from the time when children’s toys were not on a screen, the world has converged to this. We are in a direction of digital identities. Now most people produce content, interact, for themselves or for another purpose, telling something personal or professional, this connects to Personal Branding by the bias of you talking about yourself. If it is relevant or not, if it is silly or not, the fear of rejection, if we were not created this way, several points that make me go beyond “what goes on air”.
There was a time when people did job interviews in person, there still is, but it’s very little, people thought about how they should appear that day, prepared to talk about various topics and challenges, how they should be dressed, among other forms of evaluation for whoever was employing them. What has changed is the way of analysis, but not only from company to person, currently it is from person to person with some robots mixed in, such as algorithms and artificial intelligence.
Well, can you not do Personal Marketing? Yes, and you will be throwing away the opportunity of a better placement in the market. Let’s turn the key, it is time to activate the maxim that if you love what you do, you will not be working, which already makes the word ‘work’ a pejorative, because it is – the origin of the word has to do with punishment.
In order not to focus on work, to change the energy, let’s talk quickly about life. This is no longer a monologue, think with me in a dynamic of what you like to do most, do you take pleasure in something? I love music and gastronomy, I started posting things related to that in my daily life, when I found myself “working” with that it was no longer work. Do you understand the first step?
What and who you start to relate to ends up coming back to you somehow, you will be connected to that, you will cyclically activate your bubble, your friends who today “follow” your profile and a few more curious people who you can call followers or not, just close the profile, will interact with something they like. You can break the bubble, but this is a technical matter that has no love, it is performance, traffic. By the way, for more love, please, always!
Come on, connect with yourself, then connect with others. You can open your profile for everyone to see, you will reach more people, or follow with a more shy profile, however, here is an encouragement for you to produce content that is more and more “your face”. Be more truthful to reap more truth. You don’t need to start with some authorial content about yourself, you can show your view of the world, take a picture, take an image, make a comment, praise someone, send a message, there are several examples of how you generate content and do personal marketing without being a robot, put emotion because we are talking about relationship.
There is no marketing without a relationship between two or more parties, there is no personal marketing without looking inside and making a compliment before criticizing. Communication is my training, I affirm that silence is also communication, so respect your time, think about, reflect on how you can promote yourself. Changing the attitude, changes the result.

After a narrative has started, continuity is a matter of flow, periodicity, subjects covered, and then yes, it becomes more strategic. You will understand that there is a universe of content related to the life you lead. What are issues of interest to others, what are issues inherent to your uniqueness, easy to understand relating the example of strengths and weaknesses, mood swings, among others. This all becomes a narrative with the power to tell more and more interesting stories, with a technique to attract someone’s attention, to make the person interested in the content, to generate some desire, involvement, perhaps an action.
I invite you to google on the “hero’s journey” theory, which helped Walt Disney to create the parks, the guy who said it is more interesting to seek the impossible because the competition there is less. Impossible for me is not being thankful always, be grateful, your life is interesting for those who love you. Your Personal Marketing already exists, move on!
